you do not want to vaporize the acid stain, the metals in the stain are not to be ingested

is it possible to stain floors that have tile on them. of course i want to take the tile up but how hard will the prep be?

The difficulty of prepping pre-tiled floors depends on whether the tiles were laid in mud or mastic. Acid stain won't work on mastic. If mud was used, chip off the tile using a broad flat chisel without chipping the floor. Try using a puddy knife to scrape the concrete once the tile is removed. Then rent a buffer and use a coarse pad. Then clean with TSP/water and rinse. Staining will likely make the swirls and tile grid visible on the concrete but may give the floor more character. Good Luck!

agree on this...overlays are waste of money, resources,

do you know how much energy is used to create just one TILE ? think about it one TILE

Does this method work on an existing slab that may already have a sealer applied to it?

i find putting a thin micro topping down saves soo much time on the prep and it takes a stain much better than normal concrete usually interior youve got tack strips and all sorts of inconsistencies on your slab that staining on top of your slab is just not practical plus you forgot to mention nuetralizing the acid with ammonia also why use a waterborn sealer indoors? or was it acrylic urethane? i only use polys much better stain resistance great vid though you take pride in your work it shows
