Acid Stains vs Dyes

Acid stains have traditionally been the main floor coloring material for stained concrete floors due to there unique color effects and permanent etching ability. For these reasons acid stains are hard to beat.

The draw backs to acid stains are their color limitations and time consuming residue clean up.  Dyes offer color versatility acid stains lack as well as little clean up once the dyes are applied.

Although they are completely different products, acid stains and concrete dyes are a great compliment to each other.  Dyes can soften areas of the slab where the chemical stain has produced an overly bright tone or they can be used to intensify stain colors where an area did not react well with the concrete.
