Dry Concrete Polishing

Dry concrete polishing evolved from a need to be quicker and more efficient during the concrete polishing process.

The wet process uses water to minimize the dust caused be grinding and to cool the diamond abrasives and extend the life of the grinding tools by eliminating friction.  This friction caused by the high RPMs of the polishing machines will quickly wear down the resin and diamond bond abrasives.  The disadvantage of using water is the mess that is created.  Collection and disposal of this messy concrete slurry is time consuming and slows productivity.

Advances in equipment has now enabled the entire concrete polishing process to be done dry. Machines are now equipped with highly efficient dust collecting systems that grind and polish dust free.  Improvements in resin-bonded disks, designed to withstand high RPM friction, have also helped advance the dry concrete polishing process.
